Boilerplate — copy & paste

One-liner (15 words)

TA pilot is a free Chrome sidebar for presenters — live Q&A, voice-triggered polls, and countdown timers.

Short (40 words)

TA pilot is a free Chrome sidebar that docks beside Google Slides and gives presenters live audience Q&A with upvotes, voice-triggered polls that land in two seconds, ambient music, and countdown timers — without ever leaving the deck.

Long (70 words)

TA pilot is the AI teaching assistant for people who live on stage. A Chrome sidebar docks beside Google Slides, Keynote Web, or any browser-based deck and gives presenters a live Q&A feed with upvotes, voice-triggered polls via Gemini 2.5 Flash, inline screenshots from audience phones, ambient music for transitions, countdown timers, and optional live captions in 20 languages — all without leaving the tab they're already in.

Quotable lines

Most presentation tools pull you out of your deck. We built TA pilot because the best tool for a live talk is the one that disappears into your peripheral vision.

Page Deng, co-founder

Audience participation in live talks is broken. Three confident people ask all the questions; the best question from the back of the room never gets heard. A QR code and upvotes fix that.

TA pilot team

Voice-triggered polls in two seconds is the feature we didn't know we were building. The moment you stop having to leave your slides to run a poll, you actually run three times as many.

Show HN: TA pilot — a Chrome sidebar for live audience Q&A

Hi HN,

We built TA pilot because every live Q&A tool we tried (Slido, Mentimeter, Meet's built-in Q&A) forced us to leave the deck to moderate. That's a bad trade during an actual talk.

TA pilot is a Chrome sidebar that docks to the right of whatever tab you're in — Google Slides, Keynote Web, Notion, anything. Questions from the audience stream into the sidebar in real time; upvotes re-sort the list live. Voice-triggered polls land on every audience phone in two seconds (we use Gemini 2.5 Flash for the NLP). Countdown timers and ambient music are one voice command away.

Audience side: scan the QR on your slide, ask a question, optionally attach a screenshot of the slide that confused them. No app install.

Today it's free for any session size. Extension is on the Chrome Web Store. Would love feedback, especially on the extension architecture side-by-side with browser-based decks — happy to go into the Manifest V3 sidePanel API weirdness if useful.
